Now in its 179th year, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s boast 10 acres of these inspired gardens along with the toe-tapping vibes of some jazz greats. For inspiration, Flower Show Designer Sam Lemheney, traveled to the Big Easy in the spring to put together a series of dramatic displays that exude the energy of New Orleans’ French Quarter.

Over-the-top floral chandeliers, full-size palm trees, and imaginative garden rooms will push the limits of “outside-in” décor while Southern plants from magnolias to oleanders will abound. The tempo picks up as we enter the Show’s tribute to New Orleans. Here, the hanging gardens and cast-iron balconies reminiscent of the French Quarter will surround The Bourbon Street Stage, showcasing N’awlins style jazz with special performances by Big Sam’s Funky Nation. Throughout the Show each day, visitors will be invited to join in a New Orleans tradition, the Second Line parade.

New categories this year include a series of floral arrangements inspired by the works of fashion students at the University of the Arts and a whimsical topiary dog show that will feature a variety of favorite breeds.
